Disfruta de una taza de té taiwanés infusionado en frío mientras aprendes sobre historia, estilo, influencias en el shodo, técnicas de escritura y los cuatro “tesoros” del temario: el pincel, el papel, la tinta y el tintero.
Practicaremos los trazos básicos con un pincel seleccionado para la ocasión —y apropiado para principiantes— y los transformaremos en un sinograma o frase china.
Al final de la clase podrás llevarte a casa tanto el pincel como tu pieza escrita sobre un papel shuen artesanal.

Join us to learn the beauty of this ancient art-form which has evolved over thousands of years. It is not only the poetic expression of the Chinese characters, but also a training of one’s mind and ‘qi’.
Enjoy a glass of cold brewed Taiwanese tea while learning about Chinese Caligrahpy’s history, styles, influences over shodo, writing techniques and the four “treasures” of the study: the brush, the paper, the ink and the ink plate.
We will practice the basic strokes with a specially picked brush —suitable for beginners— and transform them into a Chinese Character or phrase.
At the end of class you can take home both the brush and your finished written piece on an artisanal shuen paper.
